2022, the previous edition

The 12th edition of the Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe promised to be exceptional; it exceeded all expectations. With 138 skippers at the starting line, the largest fleet ever assembled for a solo ocean race, the 2022 edition will remain one of the most memorable chapters in the history of this legendary transatlantic race. Strategic battles at every level, demanding conditions in the North Atlantic in November, and top-level performances made for an intense and unpredictable race.
Of the 138 sailors involved, 103 managed to reach Pointe-à-Pitre, illustrating the difficulty and selectivity of the event.
Beyond the sporting spectacle, this edition confirmed the vitality and excellence of all the classes, reinforcing the unique character of the Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe. On land, the public success was just as remarkable: the 70,000 m² village of Saint-Malo welcomed huge crowds who came to admire the fleet, enjoy the entertainment, and share in the excitement of the departures.
The event also highlighted environmental issues, reinforcing its role as a platform for raising awareness about the ocean. Combining sporting performance, popular enthusiasm, and commitment, the Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe 2022 has established itself as a benchmark edition and opens new perspectives for the future of the race.
