On the way to the Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe 2022.
The finest fleet of ocean sailing boats will line up at the start of the 12th edition of the Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe. On Sunday, November 6, 2022, the six competing categories will set off on a single course, unchanged since 1978, the year the queen of transatlantic races was created.

Before the liberating cannon shot, the sailors will connect with the public throughout the village's opening period, from October 25th until their departure. This public interaction will naturally continue upon their arrival in Guadeloupe.
The changes and new features for this 12th edition of La Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe 2022 will showcase our beautiful destination.

Much more than an international sporting event, the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe is a true driver of economic development for our islands, both in terms of showcasing our expertise and in making our archipelago more attractive to a national, and even international, audience.
Over the years, this race has established its reputation in France and around the world, with an ever-increasing number of international skippers participating. The Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe is becoming increasingly popular, judging by the record number of entries for this 12th edition.

With Guadeloupe Grand-Large, a structure designed to train future skippers for offshore racing and recreational boating professions, the stated ambition for this 2022 edition is to bring together nautical and economic players, in order to unite an active business network around the blue and green economies, on the occasion of a joint sporting event that has now become essential.

As we all know, the health crisis has severely impacted our lifestyles, as well as the lives of our businesses. What better way to address this than with the Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe 2022? It's a true driver of regional appeal, allowing us to revitalize economic activity and give visibility to the entire entrepreneurial ecosystem.

We therefore approach this edition as a catalyst for energy and opportunities to fill the sails of economic and tourism recovery.

Ary Chalus - President of the Regional Council of Guadeloupe
