This Tuesday morning, shortly before 5 a.m., Charles Caudrelier alerted his shore team to damage to the port foil of the Maxi Edmond de Rothschild. This major incident occurred while the Gitana Team skipper was sailing downwind, 400 nautical miles north of the Azores, in 3-meter seas and a 20-25 knot northerly wind. The newest Gitana was then in 4th position among the Ultim trimarans in the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe fleet.

The skipper is fine and the situation is under control.
