Francis Joyon capsized aboard his ORMA Océans. According to initial reports, the skipper confirms he is uninjured. A rescue operation, coordinated with race control, has been launched with the CROSS* Jobourg maritime rescue coordination center and British authorities.

On site, the weather conditions are good with 20 to 25 knots of wind and 2-meter waves. Francis Joyon, winner in 2018 against François Gabart in the Ultim class, was making his return in the Vintage Multi class. The skipper got off to a very good start, dominating his category: throughout the first night and morning, Francis Joyon was indeed in the lead ahead of Damien Seguin (Arkea – Handicap International), now the sole leader.
