After 48 hours of racing, bodies are tired but minds are working at full speed as it's already time for the first strategic decisions to determine the opportune moment to turn south. Between meals and naps, a midday update on the Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe fleet.

At noon, the boats were still sailing at high speed, and some fleets were already starting to break away. Indeed, several boats had already made a breakaway towards the south, notably Luke Berry (Le Rire Médecin Lamotte), Erwan Le Draoulec (Lazare x Hellio), and Laurent Bourgues (La French Fab), who were soon to be joined by Basile Bourgnon. In the Class40 class as well, six boats had turned right, led by Gaëtan Thomas (Barco Brasil).
Fabien Delahaye has retired due to injury from the LEGALLAIS race ( more info here)

On board, life continues amidst the harsh Atlantic, but always with a good breakfast. Mac & Cheese for Francesca Clapcich (11th Hour Racing, IMOCA), scrambled eggs for Charlie Capelle (Acapella, Vintage Multi), and chestnut purée "Route du Rhum edition" for Mikael Mergui (Hirsch - Centrakor, Class40). Today's breakdowns
This Tuesday morning, shortly before 5 a.m., Charles Caudrelier alerted his shore team to damage encountered on the port foil of the Maxi Edmond de Rothschild (ULTIM). The skipper is fine and the situation is under control.
The boom end is broken at the clew on board Tagaroa. Amaury De Jamblinne De Meux is considering making a stopover to repair it.
During the night, Armel Tripon contacted his team after encountering damage to one of his two rudders aboard the IMOCA Les P'tits Doudou. While sailing downwind at over 20 knots, approximately 650 nautical miles northeast of the Azores, in fairly manageable seas and a 20-25 knot wind, the boat suddenly broached. Armel is sailing with one rudder raised and at reduced speed to analyze the situation and try to find a solution to the problem.
