The race will start on November 1st at 1:02 PM from Saint-Malo, at the same minute as the skippers, on the same course and in the same weather conditions. For nearly a month, the players will face the same tactical choices as the sailors: northern route or trade winds, depressions to navigate, wind shifts not to miss.

Five races on the program

The game offers a race for each of the four classes of the Route du Rhum (Ultim, IMOCA, Ocean Fifty and Class40), as well as a Vintage Multi race.

Virtual Regatta's 20th Anniversary

Virtual Regatta was born during the Route du Rhum in 2006 and celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. This edition is the fifth virtual version of the race. In 2022, more than 500,000 boats were registered. [To be completed: X boats already registered since registration opened, figure to be received from Thomas Gauthier on Monday, October 5th.]

Trips and watches to be won

Five trips to Guadeloupe are being offered by Corsair and Des Hôtels et des Îles: one for the winner of each race. Six Alpina watches, Official Timekeeper of the Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe both on the water and in Virtual Regatta, are also up for grabs.

“The Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe holds a special place for us: it was this race that gave birth to Virtual Regatta in 2006, and it remains the one our players look forward to the most. For a month, the public will race alongside the skippers. Each will have to choose their route between the north and the trade winds, and many will set their alarms in the middle of the night so as not to miss a wind shift. For a large number of our players, it's the gateway to offshore racing: they arrive in Guadeloupe knowing every skipper and every low-pressure system. See you on November 1st at 1:02 PM at the starting line: there's almost a month left to prepare your boat.”

Thomas Gauthier, Deputy General Manager at Virtual Regatta
