Biography

The first disabled skipper to finish the Vendée Globe, Damien is a powerful symbol. His career as a regatta sailor and offshore racer has made him a prominent figure in his sport. A two-time Paralympic Champion, five-time World Champion, and two-time Vendée Globe finisher, he is embarking this year on his fifth Route du Rhum aboard a legendary boat, the former Fujicolor 2 of Mike Birch and Loick Peyron. This ORMA trimaran has won everything...except the Route du Rhum, and it is this victory that Damien has set for himself on this transatlantic race.
