Marco GUERRA

skipper Class40, on IMAGIN'ACT-SOCOMEC, Saint-Tropez

"I'm a problem shooter. Two years of an atypical project, a thousand hardships: I overcame them one by one. The Route du Rhum? It's simply the most beautiful problem I have left to solve."

Biography

Marco Guerra is one of the rare sailors who designs, builds, and sails his own boat. Trained in Optimists, he distinguished himself for fifteen years on the Italian Olympic team in the 470 class before winning 13 Italian, 3 European, and 2 world titles in dinghy, match racing, and offshore sailing. Then, for ten years, he headed shipyards on the French Riviera, where he crossed paths with Imagin'Act, E'nergys, and Socomec—whose systems are installed on board. From this alliance was born the new Class40 #207 Imagin'Act-Socomec. And suddenly, the Route du Rhum opened up: the Mediterranean sailor embarked on his first Atlantic crossing, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
