Biography

In 2020, Boris Herrmann became the first German to participate in the Vendée Globe. After The Ocean Race 2022/23 with his Team Malizia, he competed in the Vendée Globe 2024/25, completing his sixth around the world race. Their new IMOCA will be launched on July 6, 2026, with the objectives of competing in The Ocean Race Atlantic and the Route du Rhum in 2026, The Ocean Race 2027, and the Vendée Globe 2028/29. Team Malizia combines offshore racing, science, and education through its mission, A Race We Must Win – Climate Action Now! The team collects ocean data and has raised awareness among more than 118,000 students with its My Ocean Challenge program.
