Biography

Born in Lyon in 1986, Robin Marais discovered sailing in early childhood. After a career in Olympic sailing, Mini, Class40 and Figaro, he took part in his first Route du Rhum in 2018, finishing 18th. In 2026, he is back in an IMOCA with RESPIRE, a sporting and human project that links his 2028 Vendée Globe ambition to a commitment to air quality, ocean preservation and youth education. His goal: to bring three associations together around these closely linked causes and give meaning to his adventure at sea.
