Sébastien SIMON
biographie
Born on May 6, 1990, in La Roche-sur-Yon, Sébastien discovered sailing at a very young age and progressed rapidly, from the Optimist to the 420 (3rd in the world in 2013), then to the J80 and M34. He then turned to offshore racing, with the Vendée Globe as his goal. Winner of the Bretagne-CMB Espoir Challenge in 2013, he shone in the Figaro class and won La Solitaire in 2018. In the IMOCA class, he won the Bermuda 1000 Race in 2019. Forced to abandon the race in 2020, he redeemed himself with a 3rd place finish in the 2024 Vendée Globe. An engineer and all-around athlete, he also excels in triathlon.
