Biography

From a young age, Violette Dorange has taken on sailing challenges: crossing the English Channel in an Optimist at 15, competing in the Mini Transat at 18 as the youngest woman to start, followed by three seasons in the Solitaire du Figaro. In 2023, she acquired a historic IMOCA and quickly made a name for herself on the circuit. In the 2024 Vendée Globe, she impressed everyone with her authenticity and fighting spirit despite damage and a tricky passage around Cape Horn, before being welcomed as a heroine in Les Sables-d'Olonne. Co-skipper with Sam Davies in 2025, she has been skipper of Team Initiatives Cœur since January.
