"Whether you have an invisible disability or are a sailor facing the ocean, resilience is the key to sustainable performance."
Pierre-Louis ATTWELL
biography
A former sports instructor in Honfleur, and living with Crohn's disease, I turned to competitive sailing in 2018, starting with my first Solitaire du Figaro. As a patient expert, I then joined the Class40 circuit to represent patients with chronic illnesses, and won the 2024 Class40 Championship. I have completed nine transatlantic crossings, including the 2022 Route du Rhum solo race. Since 2026, I have been a patron of AFA Crohn RCH France, and in March I launched my IMOCA RESILIENT project to raise awareness of invisible disabilities.
