Biography

A civil engineer from Saint-Malo, Maxime Sorel puts his passion for project management at the service of his dream, offshore racing. After 5 years in Class40, he joined the IMOCA class and finished 10th in the 2020-2021 Vendée Globe. Starting the 2022 Route du Rhum with a new foiling IMOCA, the Dragon des Océans, he took 5th place before setting off on the 2024 Vendée Globe. Alongside this, in 2023 he became the first man to achieve the "Double Everest", climbing Everest after completing the Vendée Globe. He is now aiming for the 2028 Vendée Globe.
