Maxime SOREL

biography

A civil engineer from Saint-Malo, Maxime Sorel is channeling his passion for project management into his dream: offshore racing. After five years in the Class40 class, he joined the IMOCA class and finished 10th in the 2020-2021 Vendée Globe. Starting the 2022 Route du Rhum with a new foiling IMOCA, the Dragon des Océans, he took 5th place before setting off on the 2024 Vendée Globe. In 2023, he became the first person to achieve the "Double Everest," climbing Mount Everest after completing the Vendée Globe. He is now aiming for the 2028 Vendée Globe.
