Sam GOODCHILD
biography
At 36, Bristol native and Breton at heart, Sam Goodchild is a talented sailor who has brilliantly honed his skills on a wide variety of boats. He knows offshore racing like few sailors of his generation. Class 40, Figaro Bénéteau, Ultim, Ocean Fifty, IMOCA – Sam is a skipper who shines in both crewed and solo races. After competing in his first Vendée Globe in 2024, finishing in 9th place on a previous generation boat, Sam was chosen by Charlie Dalin to succeed him at the helm of the IMOCA MACIF Santé Prévoyance until the end of 2026.
