Biography

A professional sailor, Olympic athlete (London 2012, Rio 2016) and mother, Francesca Clapcich is considered one of the most versatile women sailors. Born in Italy and based in Utah, she has achieved a string of firsts, as the first Italian woman to race the Solitaire du Figaro and to win The Ocean Race (2022-2023), and the first woman skipper in the Ocean Fifty Series. Committed alongside 11th Hour Racing, she and her team carry a strong message for a protected ocean and a more inclusive and equal sport.
